Den of The Dev

Den of The Dev is a Game Dev simulator that tells the story of Joel. A guy who finds himself a bit lonely in his apartment, but who dreams of having his own games being played by other people.

The goal of the game is simply to make games and try to make a living as a developer. With a relaxing lo-fi hiphop soundtrack and a pixel art look reminiscent of super Nintendo games, the intention is to capture a lifestyle that made more sense during the coronavirus pandemic.

Can you help Joel establish himself as a Game Developer?

Controls and How to Play:

Use WASD to walk and press E to interact with the

objects in your house.

Use the keys 1 to 4 from the aplhanumeric keyboard to control the flow of time. 1 is normal speed and 4 is the fastest.

You need Will to perform some actions

Your mental and body health is represented by the Spirit bar. Sleeping converts Spirit into Will and/or Inspiration. It all depends on how many hours you sleep. Actions like bathing and eating increase your Spirit.

The more Inspiration you have, the less Will you spend when performing actions. You can trade Will for Inspiration by playing guitar. And also exchange Inspiration for Will by reading about Game Design.

Press ESC to access the menu. You load, save and exit the game on it.
